We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Maple Leaf Construction. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and prepare layouts in conformance to building codes.
- Material Preparation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Construction Execution: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
- Support for Indigenous Communities: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that promote diversity and inclusion, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
- Work Term: Permanent position.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
