About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Maple Leaf Construction. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and prepare layouts in conformance to building codes.
  • Material Preparation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Construction Execution: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
  • Support for Indigenous Communities: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that promote diversity and inclusion, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent position.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
