Human Relations Specialist

**About Us**
The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) is a dynamic organization that serves the health and social needs of the Cree communities in Eeyou Istchee.
We are seeking an experienced Human Relations Officer to join our team as a Human Relations Specialist. This position plays a vital role in supporting our youth protection services, ensuring the well-being of vulnerable children and families in our community.
**Job Description**
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong interpersonal, leadership, and case management skills. As a Human Relations Specialist, you will provide clinical, professional, and case management services to our youth protection workers, supporting them in their daily activities and ensuring that our clients receive high-quality care.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide guidance and support to our youth protection workers on policies, procedures, and best practices;
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and improve client outcomes;
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service integration;
- Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives to enhance your skills and knowledge;
- Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement efforts within the department.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related field (e.g., criminology, social work, sexology, psychology);
- At least 2 years of experience in social services, specifically in youth protection;
- Knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and current trends in youth placement;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including front-line staff and management;
- Fluency in English and Cree; fluency in French is an asset;
- Willingness to travel and adapt to changing priorities.
