About This Role

CAE Inc is a world-class company and industry leader seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for labor relations for a manufacturing employee group of 500 employees and aligning company objectives with those of employees and management in designated divisions.

This strategic role involves handling the partnership with sectors, providing operational advice and support, overseeing HR services such as labor relations management, talent management, engagement, compensation and benefits, performance management, and change management. You will work closely with the business and HR support team to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all labor relations for the manufacturing group, including grievance committees, labor relations committees, and advisory roles in disciplinary management.
  • Interpret and apply collective agreements effectively.
  • Participate in collective agreement negotiations and implement action plans, programs, and HR projects to support strategic objectives.
  • Act as human resources manager for employees, supervisors, and department heads of served groups.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify workforce issues, develop actions to address operational challenges, and develop leaders.
  • Coach managers on HR management and advise them on reviewing organizational structures.
  • Participate in change management plans and influence various partners within CAE.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance employee mobilization.
  • Provide guidance to department head management teams on HR programs, policies, and procedures, compensation, training, employee relations, performance management, and succession planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 10 years of experience as a Human Resources business partner.
  • Experience in labor relations in a unionized production environment.
  • Collective agreement negotiation experience (an asset).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing HR environment.
  • Strong interest in design and manufacturing engineering operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written, in English and French.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to act as an internal advisor and coach for management and employees.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite and HRIS systems.
