Job TitleHuman Relations Officer - Team Lead
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Human Relations Officer to lead our Social Assistance Team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social services, particularly in youth protection, and excellent leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Lead the Social Assistance Team and provide guidance and support to team members;
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery;
- Collaborate with Front Line services and Youth Healing Services staff and management to achieve common goals;
- Provide training and coaching to new employees;
- Conduct regular meetings with team members to discuss progress and address concerns;
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services;
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A university degree in social sciences, such as criminology, social work, sexology, or psychology;
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in social services, particularly in youth protection;
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Cree; fluency in French is an asset;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and current trends in youth placement;
- Good knowledge of First Nation social service models and trends in Eeyou Istchee;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strong critical thinking, synthesis, organizational, and decision-making skills.
$85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience.
