About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will contribute to the management of projects and support the work of the Principle Investigator (PI) in the Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Study Administration: Regular meetings with the PI, processing and submitting forms to the Research Ethics Board, accompanying research participants to MRI and EEG studies, coordinating research participant bookings, contacting study subjects, administering and recording study tests, and assisting with subject screening.
  • Administrative Support: Acting as a point of contact, providing information and direction, responding to routine correspondence, composing and editing letters and documents, and attending team meetings.
  • Data Management: Collecting data, maintaining filing systems, filing study documents, developing and maintaining methods of tracking information, entering and analyzing data, archiving documentation, and coordinating data transfer and storage.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health science and/or science, with experience in research-related tasks. Proficiency in MS Office, email, and internet is required, as well as effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
