The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team in the Department of Critical Care at IWK Health Centre.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantitative and clinical research and will be responsible for supporting the research portfolios of Department Research Director(s) and department physician researchers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and will be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including participant recruitment, consent, and enrolment processes, data collection and analysis, and preparation of specimens for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participant recruitment, consent, and enrolment processes
  • Perform data collection as required
  • Perform study-specific data analysis
  • Prepares specimens for shipment
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of manuscripts, grant applications, ethical review (REB) applications, and presentations/posters

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required
  • Two years of research-related experience or a post-graduate degree an asset
  • GCP and TCPS-2 (2022) certification required, may be obtained upon hiring
  • Two work or academic references required
