Nunavut Languages Commissioner Leader

We are seeking a visionary and experienced senior manager to lead our language preservation efforts as the Nunavut Languages Commissioner.
This is a critical role that requires expertise in official languages legislation, including national trends in language rights. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial and human resources management, as well as experience in managing teams.
The position involves exercising powers and responsibilities under the Official Languages Act and the Inuit Language Protection Act. The ideal candidate will be fluent in the Inuit Language and at least one other of Nunavut's official languages.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading language preservation efforts in Nunavut
- Managing teams and developing policies
- Providing strategic guidance on language-related issues
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $157,970 and $225,672 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a five-year, full-time statutory appointment with relocation assistance provided for successful candidates who are not residents of Iqaluit. Subsidized staff housing is also available.
