Estimated Salary: $23.03 per hour, with a competitive wage package including a weekend shift premium, benefit plan, paid sick days, and RRSP program.

About the Job

This Part-Time Intervenor role supports communication and day-to-day living for individuals who are living with dual sensory impairment. The successful candidate will empower these individuals to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, volunteerism, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting individuals in their home and community environments.
  • Using communication techniques to relay information, ensuring seamless interaction.
  • Empowering individuals to develop and achieve personal goals and objectives.
  • Providing personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration, etc.

Requirements

  • A college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
  • Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
