Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Consultant to join our team at the Saskatchewan Liquor & Gaming Authority (SLGA). As a key member of our financial services branch, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and reports, budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial information.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a degree in Commerce or Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance and possess a minimum of three years of experience in related fields. A Professional Accounting Designation, such as CPA, is an asset. You will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to others, delegating work, approving the work of others, coaching and motivating others, and ensuring the quality of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and oversee the processing of financial information, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management, and vendor support.
  • Maintain systems of accounts, critically review financial statements and reports, and develop and initiate new accounting processes, procedures, and practices.
  • Complete risk assessments, design and conduct information system tests, and ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Provide accounting advice to branches and mentor financial services staff, lead project teams, corporate programs, and assigned staff as required.
  • Develop and maintain strategic networks and business relationships, manage complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism, and develop all budgets, fiscal forecasts, and financial reports.
