Operations Manager for Manufacturing

At Flex-N-Gate, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for Manufacturing to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring that all products meet customer specifications in terms of safety, quality, and production. This includes maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and production, as well as enforcing complete quality systems and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining plant production requirements and customer production requirements
- Ensuring production operators perform quality checks
- Controlling scrap and rework levels
- Reacting to tooling problems through trouble shooting
- Ensuring quantities and packaging concerns are addressed
- Initiating corrective actions to resolve process concerns
- Monitoring hourly production rates and addressing related issues
- Leading Continuous Improvement initiatives on the shop floor
- Conducting orientation with new hires or transferred employees
- Training new hires on safe and efficient machinery operation
- Monitoring performance and conducting evaluations as required
- Administering the Collective Agreement with plant employees
- Ensuring employees work in a safe manner and follow Health and Safety laws
- Maintaining good housekeeping on the plant floor
The ideal candidate will possess a University Degree in Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Program, excellent planning and organizational skills, and strong communication abilities both written and oral.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, prescription, vision, life, and disability insurance, RRSP retirement savings plan, extensive safety training, new hire orientation, continuous learning and development programs, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays and vacation time.
