Scope of the Position
We seek a talented Manufacturing Automation Specialist to lead the design, construction, and implementation of assembly equipment control systems and standards. This individual will oversee activities related to developing and implementing assembly equipment control systems and standards to meet production requirements for new programs and product launches.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning and implementation of assembly equipment control systems and standards ensuring compliance with specifications and codes.
- Review and assist in proposed designs from assembly tooling vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
- Prepare purchase specifications for materials and equipment, including cost estimates and equipment layout.
- Assist in creating, modifying, and testing products and processes.
- Interpret engineering drawings for production personnel.
- Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures.
- Create and review FMEAs and Control Plans.
- Perform root cause and failure analysis as required.
- Provide expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
- Inspect products and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software.
- Generate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues.
- Maintain up-to-date engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
- University diploma in Engineering Technology or 10 years of experience in controls with hardware and software design.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, Statistical Process, and Machine Controls.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
- Knowledge of CAD.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and problem-solve.
- Ability to analyze data and create technical documents.
- Proficient in common hand tools and power tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven time management and project management skills.
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on location and experience.
