About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in Central Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of environment and approval requirements for renewable energy, transport infrastructure, and civil construction projects.

Job Summary

This is a full-time permanent position with a FIFO roster of 10 days on, 4 days off. You will provide professional and qualified advice to project managers, senior operational management, and our customers while supporting key site environmental personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Project Manager deliver environment and approvals performance
  2. Deliver technical advice on environment and approvals matters pertaining to the project
  3. Field-based compliance inspections, implement environment strategies, and provide a value-added support service, while maintaining compliance with internal, legislative, and client requirements
  4. Continually identifying improvement opportunities and act upon these to provide the Project Managers with industry-leading solutions
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Energy, Management, Sustainability, or similar. They must also have proven experience in an equivalent QLD Environmental Compliance or Environmental Management role within complex greenfield major construction projects.

Additionally, they should have an in-depth understanding of EPBC and State Post Approval requirements. Strong communication skills and the ability to provide guidance for all levels of staff and managers are essential.
