The Surgical Processing Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the surgical processing department, ensuring that all equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a team of surgical processing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of surgical processing staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve departmental performance and efficiency.
- Provide training and coaching to surgical processing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
- Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a team of surgical processing staff.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Ability to conduct quality control checks.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work night shift for an extended period of time.
- SPM Data Coordinator Training.
- SPM loaner, Working Leader II training.
- Proven history of professionalism with strong references.
- Proven record of reliability.
- Completion of computer courses (Microsoft Office, Windows, Typing, Computer basics).
- Ability to type greater than 40 Words Per Minute (WPM) while maintaining 95% or greater accuracy in a 1-minute typing test.
