About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery/Surgical Short Stay team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care needs
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Provide education to patients, families, and peers on best practices and evidence-based care
  • Act as a strong patient advocate through collaborative discharge planning
  • Participate in research activities and contribute to the development of nursing practice
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Nursing experience within last seven (7) years in inpatient surgical nursing
  • Previous experience providing education to patient populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 recent years Day Surgery experience
  • Experience using Connect Care
  • Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity Training
  • Experience working with diverse communities, groups, and/or organizations
