Pacific Blue Cross, a leading health insurance provider in British Columbia, is seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit Director to join its team.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced auditor to lead the internal audit function and contribute to the organization's success. As Internal Audit Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective internal audit strategies, policies, and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing, risk management, and leadership, with experience in managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders to drive organizational performance. They will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively to senior management and the board of directors.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $170,000 per year, based on industry standards and market conditions in Canada. However, the actual salary may vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective internal audit strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Lead the internal audit team and provide guidance and support to staff members
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop audit plans to address emerging risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external auditors, to ensure seamless integration of internal audit activities
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors, and monitor progress on implemented actions

Requirements:

  • 10-12 years of experience in auditing, risk management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in progressively senior leadership positions
  • Excellent knowledge of internal audit principles and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management concepts and techniques
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major in Business, Accounting, or an equivalent discipline
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or equivalent
