Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Safety Awareness Promoter to join our team in Norfolk County. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the community by promoting water safety awareness and education.

About Us:

Norfolk County is a vibrant community that offers a unique blend of rural charm and urban amenities. Our Recreation and Aquatics department is committed to providing high-quality programs and services to residents and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To educate residents and visitors on how to be safe in, on, and around water through interactive events, presentations, and educational materials.
  • To plan and conduct community events, school presentations, and activities for Drowning Prevention Week at various locations throughout Norfolk County.
  • To perform administrative tasks as directed, including reporting and data collection.
  • To maintain a positive image and represent Norfolk County's recreation and aquatics division at all times.
Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with the following qualifications:

  • One (1) year experience as a Supervising Instructor Guard
  • Standard First Aid with C.P.R. Level C., A.E.D.
  • National Lifeguard certification
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
  • Lifesaving Society Instructor
  • Lifesaving Society Aquatic Supervisor Training (an asset)
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development (an asset)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have Class G2 Driver's License
