Job Summary:

We are seeking a Hospitality Associate - Portering to join our team at Trillium Health Partners. As a key member of our Patient Support Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transportation of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients via bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to and from various locations, including patient units, x-ray departments, and laboratories.
  • Assist patients in and out of bed, stretcher, or wheelchair, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Transport laboratory specimens from patient areas to specified laboratories, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Deliver deceased patients to the mortuary, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, including wheelchairs, stretchers, and other essential items, in designated areas.
  • Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies as required, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use of resources.
  • Transport clean and soiled linen, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Use chemicals and cleaning agents to maintain transport equipment, ensuring optimal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Strip and make up stretchers, ensuring they are ready for use at all times.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with the Customer Support Call Centre and Leadership team, providing updates and feedback as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education and/or equivalent experience in a support services role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, customers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to read and write, and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Positive work and attendance record, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of performance and professionalism.
