Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures in the Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Collect and process blood and other biological samples for testing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Interpret test results and report findings to healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • Recent experience of 3-5 years in a core laboratory environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine.
  • Familiarity with routine automated equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Ability to work independently during off-hours.
  • A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
