Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective patient care.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment, instruments, and software.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment by promoting open communication and a culture of safety and respect.
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
- Recent experience of 3-5 years in a core laboratory environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine.
- Familiarity with routine automated equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team.
- Ability to work independently during off-hours.
- A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
