Job Summary

Halton Healthcare seeks a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment, instruments, and software.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment by promoting open communication and a culture of safety and respect.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
  • Recent experience of 3-5 years in a core laboratory environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine.
  • Familiarity with routine automated equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Ability to work independently during off-hours.
  • A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
