We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our Family Support Services team at Fraser Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive group psycho-education and group therapy services to clients and families, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This will involve consultation with MHSU inter-professional clinical staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of family support services across Fraser Health.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, community supports, and multi-disciplinary treatment teams. They will also possess strong knowledge and experience in group and family therapy, as well as the ability to educate and consult with clients, families, and healthcare professionals on issues related to mental health.
This role requires the ability to maintain client records, prepare progress notes and reports, and communicate effectively with hospitals, community health and social agencies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and delivering in-services, presentations, and/or training related to family involvement and support, family therapy, and confidentiality.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline.
- One year's recent experience in acute or community psychiatry and two years' recent experience in group therapy and family therapy, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated comprehensive psychotherapy skills, including supportive and cognitive behavioural interventions applicable to individuals, families, and groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of alcohol and drug misuse.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective referrals, reflecting in-depth knowledge of mental health resources and strong collaborative skills in working with mental health and social agency personnel.
The salary for this role is estimated to be between $62,000 and $82,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a comprehensive benefits package.
