Job Title: Patient Management Centre Representative

Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking an experienced professional to fill the key role of Patient Management Centre Representative for the Cancer Education Program. Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Library and Information Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of optimum customer services, collecting, verifying and correcting patient demographic information, generating revenue by investigating insurance coverage, patient accommodation and allocation options, and maintaining on-going awareness of Hospital-wide bed inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the provision of optimum customer services
  • Collecting, verifying and correcting patient demographic information
  • Generating revenue by investigating insurance coverage, patient accommodation and allocation options
  • Maintaining on-going awareness of Hospital-wide bed inventory
  • Receiving, processing and scheduling bed Operating Room bookings for patient admission
  • Maintaining Hospital-wide bed inventories
  • Performing unit specific activities to ensure the effective operation of the unit
  • Performing cross-functional responsibilities, as required
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary general or medical office administration program at the diploma level or equivalent
  • One to two (1-2) years related medical administrative support experience
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Previous mainframe, word processing, database and spreadsheet experience required
  • Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service required
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
