Job Title: Patient Management Centre Representative

Job Summary:

The University Health Network is seeking an experienced Patient Management Centre Representative to join our team. As a key member of the Cancer Education Program, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of optimum customer services, collecting and verifying patient demographic information, and generating revenue by investigating insurance coverage and patient accommodation options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the provision of optimum customer services
  • Collect and verify patient demographic information
  • Generate revenue by investigating insurance coverage and patient accommodation options
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of Hospital-wide bed inventory and perform other relevant activities to facilitate optimum revenue generation
  • Receive, process, and schedule bed Operating Room bookings for patient admission
  • Maintain Hospital-wide bed inventories
  • Perform unit-specific activities to ensure the effective operation of the unit
  • Perform cross-functional responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary general or medical office administration program at the diploma level or equivalent
  • One to two years of related medical administrative support experience
  • Previous experience with computer/word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Previous mainframe, word-processing, database, and spreadsheet experience required
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
