Job Overview

We are excited to present a career opportunity for an experienced Tax Partner in our Toronto offices. As a Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Domestic Tax Practice, with a focus on the growth and success of Privately Held Business Groups.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a growth strategy for the Domestic Tax practice in Toronto that complements, and is supported by, the firmwide strategy.
  2. Embrace your entrepreneurial mindset, exercise autonomy, and take charge of running a business.
  3. Mentor, coach, and develop the next generation of leaders.
  4. Champion the growth, management, and development of our Private Company Practice within the GTA, as an integral part of the broader Southern Ontario Business Unit.
  5. Actively participate in new business development efforts, by identifying broader needs of our existing clients, and prospective clients through cross-collaboration and interaction with other Grant Thornton service lines, sectors, and geography to provide a menu of options aimed at optimizing the entirety of a client's business value.
  6. Work closely with a team of professionals to deliver a wide range of business advisory services across Southern Ontario, providing strategic guidance and support to privately-held business clients on tax matters, and assisting them in navigating growth within the current business landscape and financial conditions.

Requirements

  • Completion of Bachelor and/or Master's Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.
  • Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation and completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program.
  • 10+ years' experience in public accounting or related industry.
  • Significant tax planning and compliance experience including an in-depth understanding of Canadian Corporate taxation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on development of relationships and actively anticipating client and market needs.
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the tax team.
  • Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion.
