About the Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) are seeking a Clinical Academic Psychiatrist to join their Forensic Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient program, as well as contribute to teaching and research activities.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide clinical care to patients with acute or persisting mental illness, including concurrent substance use disorders. They will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, experience working with an interdisciplinary team, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
About the Department
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto is a leading research centre in the field of psychiatry. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and a Pan America Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. The successful candidate will join a collegial team of over 25 psychiatrists and contribute to the department's research and teaching activities.
About the Requirements
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, be Board certified or Board Eligible in Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Specialty, and be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. They must also have additional training or equivalent experience and a record of excellence in scholarship.
