Job Title: Junior Human Resources Advisor

Description and Requirements

Overview

TC Transcontinental is seeking a Junior Human Resources Advisor to provide full-spectrum HR support services to our business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide advisory and administrative support to all levels of the operating unit for all HR-related matters and business initiatives.
  2. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and facilitation of background and reference checks.
  3. Lead the new hire onboarding process, including documentation and training.
  4. Advise and coach managers and supervisors on HR-related policies, best practices, and employee relation issues.
  5. Manage employee status changes and amendment paperwork throughout the year.
  6. Communicate with employees on benefit-related subjects, such as enrolment, short-term disability, long-term disability, and approved leaves of absence.
  7. Participate in coaching, discipline, and investigation meetings, and draft required documentation.
  8. Manage immigration documentation, including the entire process.
  9. Update and maintain several HR process trackers/files to ensure timely and accurate data.
  10. Run monthly and ad-hoc reports through the HRIS system and Excel.
  11. Assist with the annual and mid-year performance and compensation review process for hourly and salaried employees.
  12. Support employee engagement initiatives and chair Social Committee meetings.
  13. Build trust and strong relationships with employees by spending time on the production floor.
  14. Support a healthy and safe work environment by following workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives.

Qualifications

  1. Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources Management.
  2. 1-2 years' experience in an HR Advisor capacity.
  3. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  4. Solid experience with handling immigration documentation.
  5. Ability to understand business requirements and work with minimal supervision.
  6. Excellent organizational and priority setting skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
