Human Resources Manager and Business Partner

We are currently seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to support our Alberta and BC operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing employee relations, injury management, leading our safety program, providing legal counsel to our employees and leaders, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with at least 7+ years of experience in a similar role to leverage their skills and expertise to drive success in our organization. A post-secondary education in Business Administration or Human Resources is required. While not essential, exposure to the forklift industry or a similar field would be considered an asset. The successful candidate must be available to work on site.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with our management team and employees. They will also have a proven track record of identifying and implementing practical solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. Additionally, they will be able to manage competing priorities and deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform meetings in coordination with management regarding performance or breach issues and exit interviews/termination meetings.
- Raise issues proactively with management, identifying practical solutions and helping develop/implement appropriate action plans.
Safety Program Management:
In this critical role, you will perform site tours to identify and recommend continuous improvements in the area of health and safety, ensuring safe work practices are being followed. You will also manage ongoing COR requirements, including performing internal audits, reviewing and approving contractor packages, and liaising with contractors who do not meet acceptable compliance standards.
Injury Management:
You will be responsible for managing the BC Worksafe and Alberta WCB accounts, investigating accidents/incidents, and following through to ensure completion in all branches. You will also manage LTD and medical (non-WCB related) claims.
Legislative/Legal Compliance:
This includes but is not limited to employee/employer relations, attendance, performance management, discipline, hiring, and termination, as well as interpreting legislation. You will study existing and new legislation, advising management on needed actions to ensure compliance.
