Business Development Trainee

The EMCO Corporation Sales Development Program is an exciting entry-level opportunity where you will learn hands-on and receive guidance, mentoring, and support to succeed in your career.
A successful candidate must be willing to work in a warehouse environment for the first 1-2 years, demonstrating hard work, great people skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team.
While sales expertise is preferred, graduates of this program have gone on to excel in various positions within EMCO, including Senior Account Managers, Technical Sales Specialists, Purchasers, Operations Managers, and more.
This comprehensive 5-phase program covers every aspect of our business, from shipping and receiving to sales, operations, purchasing, account management, and beyond. Key responsibilities include:
Phase 1: Warehouse Logistics - Learn about our products, their journey from vendor to customer, and all levels of sales support.
Phase 2: Counter Sales - Develop expertise in customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory control, pricing, credit management, financial statements, and much more.
Phase 3: Inside Sales - Gain skills to process orders from start to finish, including providing timely quotes, sourcing materials, ensuring delivery, and follow-up.
Phase 4: Outside Sales/Account Management - Learn how to find new business opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build relationships with customers and vendors.
Phase 5 - Utilize your training to determine your ideal career path.
We're seeking individuals with:
- Post-secondary education (an asset)
- Positive attitude and results-driven mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with minimal supervision
- Sales background (a plus)
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
