Mortgage Business Developer

BMO is seeking a skilled Mortgage Specialist to cultivate relationships with a referral network and drive new mortgage business growth.
As a Mortgage Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying sales opportunities, referring to BMO colleagues, and developing effective marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
This role requires strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively contact referral and origination sources to discuss home financing solutions.
- Assist with the implementation of targeted marketing programs, promotions, and other initiatives.
- Actively search for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to position to the branch.
- Serve as a customer advocate during application and processing activities.
- Resolve or escalate issues to meet customer expectations and ensure funds are advanced in a timely manner.
- Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study.
- In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
