Role Overview
Are you motivated by challenges? Do you excel in managing intricate claims? If sharing your expertise with others excites you, consider joining our Casualty Operations as a Major Case Unit Analyst Adjuster. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily management of complex claims while providing essential insights to the broader claims team. Your contributions will be vital not only in handling significant loss claims but also in mentoring and sharing knowledge with key stakeholders and fellow claims professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a portfolio of predominantly commercial large loss and complex claims on a national scale, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Act as a representative for our clients and Aviva during mediations, arbitrations, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Guide and mentor team members, fostering their development through the sharing of technical and strategic skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and manage loss costs and expenses, thereby mitigating risks and enhancing customer service and financial performance.
- Continuously seek improvement by challenging yourself and your team to enhance performance and reduce inefficiencies, ensuring adherence to claims policies and procedures.

- Identify, measure, monitor, and manage key risks effectively.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends and forecast large loss developments, serving as a technical resource for senior management, underwriting, finance, and actuary.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education; CIP and FCIP designations are highly preferred.
- Over 7 years of progressive experience in casualty claims across various lines.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in managing large and complex casualty claims, with extensive knowledge in coverage analysis, investigation, and quantum evaluation. Experience in class actions, US losses, and severe losses is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance practices, operations, and processes.
- Familiarity with claims centers, data analysis tools, and a keen interest in analyzing trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong coaching abilities.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and develop a diverse and experienced team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a strong analytical focus.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Motivated with outstanding organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Licensing across Canada is preferred.
