Job Title: Technical Lead Analyst

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead Analyst to join our team in Toronto, Canada.

About the Role:

  1. As a Technical Lead Analyst, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of software products within Global Business Payments Technology.
  2. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure a flow of stories are specified, engineered, and validated.
  3. Facilitate collaborative solution discovery sessions using lightweight techniques such as Story Mapping.
  4. Decompose the solution into small increments of value (stories) that can be independently built and validated.
  5. Work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to review and accept completed stories and features.
  6. Collaborate with team and business representatives to define value and guide priority.
  7. Track projects through each phase of the project lifecycle.
  8. Ensure milestones are met and project has gone through all approval gates.
  9. Document project status & assist team in maintaining information repositories.
  10. Maintain project risk tracker and communicate project risks to management.
  11. Prepare work back schedules, roadmap, and capacity planning at a project level.
  12. Support app releases & rollout related activities.
  13. Keep all stakeholders up to date on project status and roadblocks.
  14. Set expectations with all stakeholders, execute, and communicate accordingly.
  15. Articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner following stakeholder field of expertise.
  16. Work effectively with engineering Sr Managers when needed to remediate risk around project delivery.
  17. Engage stakeholders (e.g. risk, legal, audit) as needed for consultation throughout the course of the project.
  18. Contribute to the productivity and happiness of the scrum team.
  19. Support project team members in challenging situations (resource/release challenges, cross-team communication).

Requirements:

  1. Post-secondary education in a technology-related field.
  2. 5 to 8 years of experience as a technical Business Analyst.
  3. Detail-oriented with an ability to notice all the little details for every document/requirement/conversation.
  4. Experience with frameworks such as JUnit, SOAPUI, Postman.
  5. Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve work issues in a dynamic environment.
  6. Ability to work independently and drive solutions with a small working team.
  7. Technical understanding of cloud computing, REST APIs, and systems integrations.
  8. Technical knowledge and experience on ISO20022 standard.
  9. Previous experience in Banking industry, Payments in particular; Knowledge in Swift/Fedwire is required.
  10. Strong customer orientation and a keen ability to learn rapidly.
  11. Previous experience working in agile project delivery; Scrum Master certification is an asset.
  12. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Previous experience in software development.
  14. Knowledge of automated testing industry best practices and trends.
  15. Self-motivated and driven to deliver quality work.
  16. Able to navigate complex and ambiguous situations with ease, multi-task, and work on multiple initiatives at the same time.
