Claims Examiner II Role
At Western Coast Insurance Services, we're seeking a skilled Claims Examiner II to join our National Insurance Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with partners and clients to resolve property and casualty claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret policy wordings and parameters to determine if coverage is in-force and triggered by the loss
- Manage claims settlement process with independent adjusters; providing recommendations and direction for negotiation and settlement within authority provided by insurers
- Perform in-house adjustment of claims within authority granted by provincial authorities and insurers
- Set and maintain accurate loss and expense reserves based upon investigation and/or recommendations; including validating independent adjusters' or insurers' reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
- Perform business interruption calculations
- Provide feedback to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
- Maintain and action abeyance files and payment schedules
- Draft and distribute correspondence to insureds, insurers, third-party claimants, adjusters, and other industry members
Requirements
- General Insurance Level 2 License required
- Working towards your CIP or CAIB preferred
- RIBO License is an asset
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Adjuster or Broker with established experience in Personal and Commercial Lines is required
- Clear professional communication, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook
