Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Claims Examiner II to join our team in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance claims handling, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and interpreting policy wordings and parameters to determine coverage and trigger loss
  • Managing claims settlement processes with independent adjusters, providing recommendations for negotiation and settlement within authority granted by insurers
  • Performing in-house adjustments of claims within authorized limits
  • Sets and maintains accurate loss and expense reserves based on investigation and/or recommendations, including validating independent adjusters' or insurers' reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
  • Perform business interruption calculations
  • Provides feedback to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
  • Maintains and actions abeyance files and payment schedules
  • Drafts and distributes correspondence to insureds, insurers, third-party claimants, adjusters, and other industry members

Requirements:

  • General Insurance Level 2 License required
  • Working towards CIP or CAIB preferred
  • RIBO License is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Adjuster or Broker with established experience in Personal and Commercial Lines required
  • Clear professional communication, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook

What We Offer:

A competitive salary of $64,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including 3 weeks' vacation, 14 wellness days, company matching investment and savings programs, and 100% employer-paid group benefits, including a healthcare spending account.

Location: Remote locations available within Canada. Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week.
