Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Military Air Traffic Simulator Specialist to join our team at Calian Group.

About the Role: As a VATS Simulator Operator, you will be responsible for operating Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Air Traffic Simulators and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) simulators to support the training of Air Traffic Controllers. You will execute realistic training scenarios under various conditions, including non-VFR weather and low traffic situations. Your role will also involve collaborating with CAD units to optimize the use of simulator training resources and ensuring simulator operations adhere to occupational health, safety, and operational standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate VFR and IFR simulators to support Air Traffic Controller training
  • Execute complex training scenarios under various weather conditions
  • Collaborate with CAD units to optimize simulator resource allocation
  • Maintain simulator operations in accordance with safety and operational standards

Requirements:

  • Experience with VFR and IFR simulators in military or civil aviation
  • Knowledge of Air Traffic Control operations, particularly within the Royal Canadian Air Force or similar settings
  • Technical skills in operating and troubleshooting complex simulation systems
  • Understanding of the Force Generation process in military training
  • Ability to work independently and support ATC units with on-demand simulation needs

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience.
