We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Treatment Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will accurately prepare cancer patients and their charts for radiation treatment, including fabrication of accessories, treatment localization, data entry, and treatment delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate accessories such as casts for accurate treatment preparation
- Operate conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software
- Perform in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, dosimetry, and outputs
- Enter data into record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems
- Deliver treatments using external beam therapy and brachytherapy in operating rooms
- Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
- License and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant computer software programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $43.45-$50.66, along with benefits that include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
