IT Business Process Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Solutions Analyst to join our team at the University of Ottawa. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business objectives and requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Business Analysis: Lead the evaluation of business and operational requirements of client requests, recommending necessary procedures, implementation, development, and improvements.
- Business Requirements: Identify, design, and refine business process changes and transactions, translating them into technical specifications.
- Risk Assessment: Anticipate risks and issues in plans and requirements, collaborating with IT professionals to mitigate and resolve them.
- Testing: Design and execute business and end-user test scenarios, ensuring system functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports and instructional manuals to document systems development and support users.
- Technical Support and Services: Provide expertise regarding system use and processes special requests from clients.
- Development: Maintain and upgrade interfaces for client access to necessary information and reports.
- Systems Assessments: Install and configure systems, review existing capabilities, and recommend changes or upgrades.
- Database Management: Participate in planning and designing databases, assist in data migration, and advise users on data access.
- Security Services: Investigate security breaches and implement measures for data integrity.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of emerging technologies and identify opportunities for integration.
- University Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting business units and IT needs.
- Knowledge of computing principles, business processes, and project management methods.
- Analytical skills to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
- Bilingualism - French and English (written and spoken).
