Position Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Technician III plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by managing the collection, processing, and preparation of various clinical specimens for diagnostic evaluation and reporting. This position may also involve identifying and addressing any issues related to unsuitable samples. Additionally, the technician may participate in the training of new personnel and may rotate through various designated roles as required by operational needs.

Work Schedule

This role requires flexibility with shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, typically comprising 8-hour work periods. Please note that the organization retains the right to modify schedules as necessary.

Essential Qualifications


• A college diploma from an accredited program or successful completion of the MLPAO or CSMLS certification in the relevant field;

• A minimum of six months to one year of relevant experience, unless a clinical placement was completed in one of the organization's laboratories;

• A solid understanding of medical laboratory concepts, principles, and practices;

• Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations, including the transportation of hazardous materials, WHMIS, universal precautions, and safe handling procedures;

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

As a prerequisite for employment, all new hires will be required to obtain and submit a satisfactory Criminal Records Check issued within the last six months.
