About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician III to join our team at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. As a key member of our research team, you will provide technical support and assistance to scientists, engineers, and line operations in various specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new techniques, test procedures, and standards under the guidance of professional staff.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting technical problems, using advanced testing methods and equipment.
  • Conduct research and literature searches as needed, evaluating results and formulating recommendations.
  • Provide information and options for product or process modification to improve system performance or meet customer needs.
  • Research, design, and analyze experiments, selecting and using appropriate procedures, equipment, and standards.
  • Set up, test, and calibrate testing equipment.
  • Manage daily operations and finances of a laboratory or technical operation, including budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and staff administration.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant discipline, or technical program related to pathology, with a minimum of four years of related experience.
  • Graduate degree in a health sciences-related field is an asset.
  • Knowledge of histology techniques, including sectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry, is an asset.
