Job Summary

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician 3 to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician 3, you will be responsible for the collection, receiving, and preparation of all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, and prepare all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples.
  • Identify and resolve unsuitable specimens for testing.
  • Assist with training of new staff and rotate through different specified job functions as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure efficient and accurate testing.

Requirements

  • College diploma from a recognized program or successful completion of MLPAO or CSMLS exam in the appropriate field of practice.
  • Minimum of six months to one year of experience unless clinical placement was conducted in one of EORLA's labs.
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory theory, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, Universal precautions, and safe handling practices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Microbiology experience is considered an asset.
