Head of Executive Assessments and Talent Development

At Sun Life Financial, we're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our executive assessment and talent development initiatives. As Head of Executive Assessments and Talent Development, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing assessment tools and processes to identify and develop top talent within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive assessment strategy to support business objectives and talent management initiatives.
  2. Conduct in-depth assessments of executives and high-potential employees, using a variety of methods such as interviews, psychometric tests, and 360-degree feedback.
  3. Provide actionable feedback and coaching to executives on their assessment results, highlighting areas for improvement and development opportunities.
  4. Analyze and interpret assessment data to inform talent decisions and support succession planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
  5. Manage the executive recruitment team and oversee the sourcing, screening, and selection of senior-level talent.
  6. Collaborate with HR partners and senior leaders to ensure consistency and quality of the executive recruitment process.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in industrial/organizational psychology and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  1. PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related field.
  2. At least 10 years of experience in designing and conducting assessments for executives and high-potential employees.
  3. Expert knowledge of psychometric theory and practice, and proficiency in using various assessment tools and methods.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize and communicate complex data and findings.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to provide constructive and actionable feedback to executives.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, and experience in leading and developing a high-performing team.
  7. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and manage multiple projects and priorities.
