The Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead our team of intermediate auto underwriters. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting process, training and developing staff, and coordinating underwriting strategies with our senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a small team of intermediate auto underwriters, providing guidance and support to ensure successful underwriting outcomes.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff technical acumen and promote professional growth.
  • Collaborate with our VP, Commercial Mid Market, to coordinate underwriting strategies and drive business growth.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of commercial auto underwriting business, with a focus on the Western Region.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial auto underwriting, with a proven track record of success.
  • CIP designation preferred, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make confident decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of professionals.
