Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Development
- Coach, lead, and develop a team of underwriting staff to achieve business objectives.
- Assist underwriters in underwriting large complex risks and drive regional and branch initiatives to achieve profit, sales, and growth objectives.
- Underwriting and Risk Management
- Review and manage the application of underwriting policy and pricing for all risks within an assigned book of business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to ensure positive and profitable outcomes.
- Business Development and Strategy
- Drive regional and branch initiatives to achieve business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and market activity.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external business partners.
- Collaborate with the Vice President, Commercial Mid-Market to coordinate overall underwriting strategies for the region.
- University degree desired plus a minimum of 8 years of commercial property & casualty industry experience.
- Previous experience in a management capacity is preferred.
- CIP designation preferred.
