Job Summary

CNA is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead our Auto Insurance team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and implementing underwriting strategies, and coaching and developing a team of underwriters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Development
    • Coach, lead, and develop a team of underwriting staff to achieve business objectives.
    • Assist underwriters with complex risks and provide guidance on underwriting policy and pricing.
  • Business Growth and Strategy
    • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
    • Review and manage the application of underwriting policy and pricing for all risks within an assigned book of business.
  • Broker Relationships and Communication
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to ensure positive and profitable outcomes.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
  • Industry Knowledge and Compliance
    • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with CNA's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management Experience
    • Minimum 8 years of commercial property and casualty industry experience.
    • Previous experience in a management capacity is preferred.
  • Education and Certifications
    • University degree desired.
    • CIP designation preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making.
    • Proficiency working with computers, specifically with MS Office Suite.
