Job Summary:

The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for leading a team of underwriters in the commercial auto underwriting department. This role will involve overseeing the underwriting process, developing and implementing underwriting strategies, and managing a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of underwriters in the commercial auto underwriting department
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including fleet accounts
  • Train and develop underwriting staff to improve technical acumen
  • Coordinate underwriting strategies with the VP, Commercial Mid Market
  • Portfolio and product management for the Western Region

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial auto underwriting
  • CIP designation preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confident decision-making
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and support a team of professionals
