About the Role:

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Strategic Risk Management Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our company's risk management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and advising on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Activities:

  • Assist in fund manager due diligence, document review, and compliance.
  • Oversight of bank and custodian relationships.

Corporate Governance:

  • Advice on executive owner of information security.
  • Maintain and manage group P&C insurance coverage matters.
  • General legal matters, including regulatory and legislative policy monitoring.

Cowab Insurance Group Responsibilities:

  • Business continuity management.
  • Privacy officer duties.
  • Compliance officer responsibilities.
  • Management of the whistleblower channel.

Qualifications:

  • Call to the Bar in Ontario.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal work experience.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
