Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver family-centered care.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients, including ventilation and oxygen therapy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Provide education to nurses, other healthcare professionals, and students on respiratory care and ventilator management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
- Current Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
- Successful Completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
- Demonstrated knowledge of ventilator requirements for the micro premature population
- Demonstrate the philosophy of Family Centered Care
- Demonstrate knowledge of developmental care
- Willingness to Precept respiratory therapy clinical students
- Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
- Experience, within the last 2 years, in a level 3 NICU
- Experience, within the last 2 years, attending high risk deliveries
