We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at McMaster Children's Hospital.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment, providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in the NICU, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient plans.
- Conduct regular assessments and monitoring of patients' respiratory status, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Educate nurses, other healthcare professionals, and students on respiratory care best practices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
Experience working in a Level 3 NICU within the last two years is preferred. Additionally, experience attending high-risk deliveries within the same timeframe is also desirable.
