Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing specialized care to critically ill patients. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in various units, including ICU, CCU, and Emergency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
- Develop and maintain skills in adult oral endotracheal intubation, arterial blood gas sampling, and tracheostomy management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam.
- Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications.
- Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an adult critical care setting.
