Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy department of Hamilton Health Sciences is a dynamic team that provides specialized care to diverse patient populations. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Unit Summary

You will provide critical care services in various units, including ICU E/S, CCU, and Regional Burn Unit. Your responsibilities will also include providing support to patients throughout the General site, operating the Hyperbaric Unit, and collaborating with physicians and RNs as part of the RACE team and Code Blue team.

Schedule Work Hours

You must be flexible to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
  • Hold current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Have successfully completed the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
  • Hold valid BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Have recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an adult critical care setting
  • Possess demonstrated skills and ability in ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, airway management, and mechanical ventilation
  • Demonstrate proficiency in adult oral endotracheal intubation, adult arterial blood gas sampling, and adult tracheostomy management and care
  • Show knowledge of respiratory care, support, and critical care management of adult critical care patients
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in respiratory, resuscitation, and anesthesia-related equipment
  • Be able to perform venipuncture and vascular access
Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year
