Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to neonatal patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients in the NICU, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans to meet the individual needs of each patient.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care exam.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in respiratory care, including ventilation management and oxygen therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a level 3 NICU.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
  • Knowledge of developmental care and family-centered care.
